Is alpaca wool really hypoallergenic?
Alpaca fleece does not contain lanolin, which is the natural oil found in sheep's wool that many people react to. This makes alpaca products a great choice for people with wool sensitivities. It is also incredibly soft, which makes it comfortable against the skin.
Where does your alpaca fleece come from?
All of our fleece comes from our own small herd here at West Heath. Every product can be traced back to the specific animal it came from. We are proud to offer genuine farm-to-finished-article provenance.
Do you sell your products online?
Yes. You can shop our alpaca products directly on this website, and you will also find us on Etsy. We are in the process of moving our full range onto westheathalpacas.co.uk, so it is worth checking both while the transition is underway.
What is alpaca pet bedding and why is it good for my pet?
Our bespoke pet bedding is handmade from alpaca fleece. Alpaca fibre is naturally hypoallergenic and temperature-regulating, which means it keeps pets warm in winter and cool in summer. It is a natural, sustainable alternative to synthetic pet bedding and is especially good for animals with sensitive skin.
